Academics at Pierce Law
Shaping Your Education Through Concentrations
Pierce Law integrates traditional courses with the practical skills necessary for practicing law in a rich and profound way. We take you beyond the traditional course list with increasingly responsible, complex, and professional work available through externships, clinics,
independent studies, and research. Juris Doctor students also
have the opportunity to participate in Appellate
Moot Court
and Trial Moot Court competitions as well as edit and
write for several publications, including Pierce Law Review.
As a result, students gain both a thorough academic grounding and an
opportunity to develop and actually use hands-on-skills.
In addition to the JD, Pierce Law also offers a Master of Laws in
Intellectual Property, Commerce and Technology; a Master of
Intellectual Property, Commerce and Technology; and a six month Diploma
in Intellectual Property. These programs represent the best
education for IP specialists available anywhere, allowing students and
faculty to work with intellectual property organizations around the
world to ensure courses represent the cutting-edge law of the IP
community.
Pierce is proud to be one of the country's premier centers for training
law students and lawyers in the most advanced technological and trial
presentation skills. Our facilities include a smart classroom and a
high-tech courtroom. The courtroom features state-of-the-art hardware
and software programs, offering students the opportunity to present
