Students taking the course for credit will complete a licensing negotiation exercise on January 10.
Who should attend
The Institute's advanced licensing and technology transfer curriculum is designed to meet the needs of:
- Intellectual property and licensing professionals from around the world interested in learning more about licensing and technology transfer law and practice
- University and corporate technology managers
- Students and graduates of other law schools that do not have extensive course offerings in technology transfer and licensing law
- Graduates and graduate-level students interested in licensing and technology transfer
One of the special values of the Institute is the exchange of information and perspectives among practicing attorneys, technology managers, entrepreneurs, and students from the United States and abroad. ALI 2008 presentations are available for download.
About the Germeshausen Center
Pierce Law launched the Germeshausen Center in 1985 with the mission to improve, through training and research, the climate for commercialization of technology. Headed by David Rines Professor of Intellectual Property Law Karl F. Jorda, it is the umbrella organization for Pierce Law's specialization and policy studies in the legal protection, management, and transfer of intellectual property, especially relating to the commercialization of technology and draws together an array of programs at Pierce Law as a resource of legal, business, science and governmental interest.
