How your gift can be used

However you choose to support Pierce Law, your gift will make a difference for a deserving student, support the work of our distinguished faculty, build and improve our facilities or provide support for new and existing programs. Your gift may be unrestricted in use or you may restrict it to a specific program, purpose or endowment fund.

Most contributions qualify as charitable deductions through the Internal Revenue Service regulations. As with all financial considerations, we encourage you to discuss your particular situation with your financial advisors. For more information about any of these options, please contact us .

Unrestricted Gifts

Unrestricted gifts to the Annual Fund are always Pierce Law's first priority because they are used to meet the law center's most critical needs - our students and faculty. These gifts provide the Pierce Law administration and trustees with maximum flexibility as they work to balance the budget every year. Annual Fund gifts can be considered gifts for today as they are used to help meet current costs.

Restricted Gifts

With your restricted gift, you designate how you want your gift to be used by Pierce Law. This allows you to participate in an area of particular interest to you. Many donors prefer to match their interests with the needs and priorities of the law center they find most compelling.

Endowment Gifts

A gift for endowment demonstrates a far-sighted commitment to Pierce Law and provides stability and a foundation for the law center's future. These can be considered gifts for tomorrow. An endowment fund is maintained in perpetuity and invested, with only a portion of the annual investment earnings used for the purposes specified by the donor. Endowment funds can be structured to reflect the donor's interests, named for the donor or another individual and serve as an enduring acknowledgment of the donor's commitment to Pierce Law.
