Katie Schendel joined Pierce Law in 1996 and supervises all aspects of the Law School Career Services Office including:
  • Counseling students and alumni in career planning skills and job search strategies
  • Coordinating of training skills workshops and career forums
  • Managing the on-campus interviewing (OCI) program
  • Developing relationships with potential employers
  • Striking aggressive searches for information about employment opportunities
  • Developing effective working relationships with students, alumni, staff and other placement professionals throughout the United States.

The Assistant Dean is responsible for general office supervision, including managing the budget, supervision of the Assistant Director, Administrative Assistant, and student workers and maintaining and enhancing the CSO resource materials.

Katie Schendel is a 1996 graduate of Franklin Pierce Law Center. As a student at Pierce Law, Katie received a Public Interest Fellowship and worked as student attorney at the Harvard Immigration Clinic representing refugees and asylum seekers. After graduation, she accepted a position as assistant clinical professor in the Intellectual Property Graduate Programs, teaching Legal Writing and Research and the Fundamentals of Legal Analysis to LL.M. students.

Katie’s experience also includes working for two years as Assistant Director of the Career Services Office at Western New England College School of Law and overseeing the Pierce Law Intellectual Property Summer Institute. Her publications include the bestselling “Before You Hit Send, Guidelines for Using E-mail Effectively for Job Search-related Correspondence.”
