Cultural activities

Central New Hampshire supports a wide range of cultural activities, including several concert series each year, amateur theater, dance, and music organizations. The Capitol Center for the Arts, located downtown, hosts regional and national entertainers and touring companies.

The acclaimed Concord Community Music School provides instruction in many instruments and styles of music and holds more than 200 public workshops, concerts, recitals and lectures each year, many of which are admission-free. Concord also boasts its own orchestra, the New Hampshire Philharmonic, and the Concord Chorale, an auditioned vocal ensemble.

In Concord, as in other New England cities, crafts such as pottery, woodworking, and weaving are strongly represented.
